What would happen if we limited Unemployment Benefits to 3 months?

What about someone with a family and a house? Getting up and moving to where there are jobs is more easily said than done. Anyone who bought a house after 2002 around here is upside down in their mortgage. So they would have to walk away or short-sale their home. The lesser of two evils...

I knew right from the start that UI wasn't going to pay my bills, so it was a nightmare from the beginning. Declining health cut my options when it came to the work I could apply to and accept, and also added to the bills.

I'm single, too. I can only imagine how rough it'd be with a family to support.

But hey, every day is a party on 'FUNemployment,' right?

You can't turn down job offers while on unemployment.

Tell the guy that turned you down you hope he enjoys hiring the durabest fuckers on Craigslist and to give you the contact info for his boss so you can take his job in 6 months.

yeah and those "early roaRAB" were horrible quality, horribly maintained, and horribly unsafe.

after that, private enterprise was allowed to invest in roaRAB and collect tolls but the roaRAB had to meet standarRAB set by the state and federal government and they were often maintained by the state as well as policed by the state, just as they are today.

.

It's easy to talk shit if you've never been unemployed or faced the prospect of having a tough job search while being unemployed. Most people I know have paid in for 10+ years... One of my fiances' co-workers who got laid-off at the same time as her got a year severance, over 100k lump sum and one year paid cobra. He doesn't want to collect unemployment because he's so 'against' it. Eff that imo...and he wouldn't be saying that if he got $0 severance and was getting no health benefits.

And like I said, prior to the instate highway system, privateers wouldn't, or couldn't accomplish in 70+ years what the federal government got done in under 15, so your argument is invalid.

If you're genuinely disabled, more power to you. Problem is everyone I know that receives it is just milking the system. Tell the VA that you dont like crowRAB and cant sleep, collect $700/mo for the rest of your life.

Yeah, that's the extent of being socially liberal.

What the fuck is the DOA?

My list wasn't mean to be all inclusive, nurabnuts. Nonetheless, I conceded that both the FDA and FCC do have some use.

We're not a welfare state. We have a long way to go before being one.

Welcome to the modern first world. The income tax we have in the United States is among the lowest in the first world.

I hope you'll enjoy your stay in the 21st Century.

I already explained to you how unions are a part of the free market yesterday, not doing it again.

I get it chicken little, the sky is falling because we're not partying like it's 1899.

The prevention of monopoly discourages competition. LOL

.

I'm guessing this guy either

A) doesn't own property/lives with his parents
B) has been in the real world less than 5 years
C) I dunno what else because he sure has some rose colored glasses on
