what would cause white smoke and rattling noise in my 2001 ford ranger?

recently my truck started making a rattling noise when i go on the highway and hit about 50+ and only when i accelerate. then i also started noticing that when i started my truck that there was a white cloud of smoke coming out of it. now im noticing that the white smoke is coming out when im at a stop and accelerating and sometimes the rattle sound happens when i accelerate also. almost like they coincide with each other
