Could be a timing issue or an injector issue or an oxygen sensor issue. When air is cold it's more dense. Cars run great when cool dense air hits fuel. When the incoming air is hot, you need more air for combustion. The car's computer is supposed to adjust for variances in temperature and altitude. In Italy, my Autobianchi had a manual choke for my trips to the Alps. I had to way lean out or the car would stall. Similar process when I fly Cessna 172s. I lean out my fuel/air mixture to get the ideal performance watching my RPMs. You don't have to deal with that nonsense because of the car's computer, but it may not be reacting as well on a really hot day or a hot/humid day. I don't really have a solution for you though. Try a different octane fuel during the hot months. Or maybe take a look at your plugs and wiring if they haven't been replaced in a while. A good tune up could solve the problem.
