What would cause my 2003 Ford Escape to idle in part at 3000 - 4000 RPMs?

The car idles fast in park and wants to run at 50 mph in drive.

ours idles between the 1000-2000 mark. take it to a shop and see what they say. thats your best bet

check your vacuum hoses. thats was caused it in my isuzu.
