What would be the best sport bike for starting off?

I'm limited to a 125cc on a learners permit. I think 11 kilowatts, not too sure on that. I was thinking about a cbr 125r. But i'm about 5 foot 11/ 6 foot, and i heard they are small bikes.
But also the price is an issue, i'll spend up to about €2000.
And how much would i be paying for a good quality helmet and jacket? leather?
