What would be the best bike for me?

I have never driven a motorcycle before but always rode with friends on theirs. I am really comfortable with them and am lookin into getting my own. What would be a good starter bike? I have been told that ninjas are good.
 
a 250 ninja is an ok bike to start on. I have had a few friends who started on 250 ninjas and did ok with them
