Depends on a few things. If it is warm I would prefer the pancho because I could puff it out to help cool down. If the woods are thick a poncho could get caught on things and a rain suit might be better.

Personally, I prefer the poncho. The rainsuit will keep you drier, but it has no way of breathing whatsoever. Its like walking around wrapped in garbage bags. I'd rather be slightly wet than overheated.

Poncho. The rain suit will trap in a lot of body heat and by the end of the day you'll be so wet you might as well have been exposed to the rain to begin with. The poncho will make it easier to get to your pockets, take a leak, it comes off faster and it can be used as a small improvised shelter if you have some parachute cord.
