What would be an estimated cost to rebuild a 1985 Honda Rebel engine?

I'm curious to know prices. Anyone have any experience with this? Also how hard would it be to do myself?
 
A few thousand. More than the bikes worth, just by a new rebel for $3000. I wouldn't do it myself unless you are rebuilding it to learn more about the anatomy of the bike. You don't want the bike to die on you while you are riding it.
 
much more than the bike is worth,would be good training for the future though,if you intend to keep riding bikes,dont expect this one to be a keeper ,and you'll never get your money out of it
