here are my ideas:
An object that has extreme magical powers but ironically looks like trash; it hides so people wont find it. It could be a soggy newspaper on a street for all they know. But once they find it, it transforms into something of great power, not an object, but something that you possess. The finder of it will be given great power.
A tree- Its hidden deep in the forests, and is small but mighty. Its only about 5 feet in height. Every 100 years, it loses its old leaves and regains new ones- but it wont replenish within those 100 years. If someone finds it, they can pluck a leaf from the small tree to give them various powers- which ones they will be given, they do not know. However, when all the leaves have been plucked off, they have to wait until the next 100 year cycle to begin again before more leaves form.
