what would be a good sound system for a 98 ford zx2?

I've been lookin on ebay for some sound sytems for my car. I dont wanna like blow off the doors or anything just somethin to enjoy my music and show off when i want to. I was thinkin would 2 10s do good or one powerful 12 or should i get 2 12s. And what kind of amplication should i have and how much wattage and channels. I read it is good to have an amp for both speakers and sub is this true? plz any help would be appreciated
 
I put 2 12 inch subs in a custom box with 1200 watt 2-channel amp, and it was enough to crack my front windshield while crusing down the street with the windows down. Its enough power to show off when you need to but also good to just enjoy your music.
 
2 12s definitely i have a cheap pioneer sub and amp and an mtx sub and amp and my friend could hear it 1000 ft away i'm only running about 500-600rms but when i turn it down its really nice to listen to
