What would be a good/short Horatio Alger story to share with a high school class?

I am looking to show my US history class an example of Horatio Alger's literature - what would be a good story to share with a class of high schoolers? I am teaching about ideas of upward mobility among the immigrants and poor in the 1800's Preferably, a story that is on the shorter side. Thanks
