What would be a good introduction to a book about China, or a website linking me...

...to easy-to-read information? I am writing a book about china for school, and i am having trouble thinking of an introduction to my book. In needs to be an easy-to-read paragraph. Does anyone know what i would write or a website giving me good information to help me find something?
 
One of my students wrote about his visit to China. He began by describing a beautiful sight that he saw. It was very descriptive so that the reader could mentally picture it in his/her mind

I found a site with "fun facts" that all sound great for openers. Especially one about how the tooth fairy works in China. That would be a great "attention getter" for children. The web address is below.

If you want some easy reading about China, do a Google search for "China for Kids" or something similar. I found many websites. Good Luck!

One of the few remaining Communist regimes in the world, China's leader is always a member of the Communist Party of China. While the Democratic Party of China, founded in 1998, tried to make a go of it, their leaders were promptly detained and sent to "correction facilities".

President Hu Jintao, has overseen the rise of China from a third world nation to an economic superpower (but still third world nation).

China's government is also known for its sterling Human Right's record, treating more diverse members of its society such as Falun Gong adherents and Tibetan Buddhists with the utmost dignity and respect.
