What would an opponent of universal health care do if he lost his insurance?

Or he could just screw his courage to the sticking post and start to earn some more money. A second job, start his own business... Maybe he contacts his doctor and works out a trade in a goods for service plan. He could do lots of things.
Or maybe, the doctor, finding that his business is in free fall because all of the patients have switched to crappy min wage jobs, decides to lower his cost so that he himself can stay in business and there by makes health care more affordable for everyone. Then no one needs insurance and all those pore guys who had crappy jobs to begin with can now get affordable health care.
Don't you just love capitalism?

So, he loses the job he has because it's been outsourced to another country or it just went bankrupt. He tries looking for another job, but America's unemployment rate is now actually higher than Britain's and Norway's (that's a fact!). He can't get COBRA insurance if the company no longer exists, but he does manage after months of scrambling to find another job, but it's minimum wage and offers no benefits. He tries to apply for private insurance, but he's got a pre-existing condition, and the companies either deny him or tell him that they're going to charge him more than his monthly salary (my wife's policy with Blue Cross would be $1,300 per month with her condition); he can't get state aid because he earns over $1,000 per month. He did save, but his savings are running out and he needs coverage for a chronic condition. What can he do? He can't buy it privately, the state won't take him on their rolls, the jobs he's finding don't offer benefits, he's running out of savings and he's getting desperate. Does he go to his 7-11 job everyday and thank God that he's an American and not some poor Canadian or Australian with no freedom?

What if I pay for health insurance for 20 years and never need it but end up in a car crash and die instantly? What if people didn't ask "what if" questions?

Enjoy the same rights to emergency medical care and stabilization that he does right now. Then, he might put his kids on a state funded plan. There are a few. Perhaps he would SHOP FOR OTHER HEALTH INSURANCE LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE WHO ARE CAPABLE OF CARING FOR THEMSELVES WOULD DO!

Or perhaps he would sit around like a liberal and bitch and piss and moan that the Government isn't giving him health insurance, a car, a home, a job, and buttering his friggin tost for him in the morning.

Perhaps he would die of the common cold and martyr himself for your stupid cause.

But I'm guessing since he already opposes socialism by choking, he is a pretty intelligent fellow who would like many of us (myself included) somehow, miraculously, against the ebb of the tides manage to care for himself without the government robbing everyone else.
