I'm a little curious on what would happen to the overall make-up of a living cell if it was microwaved.

What would happen genetically?
What would happen to the fluid in the cell?
What would happen to the mitochondria/lysosome/centrioles/all that other stuff?

It would denature the cell.
DNA would be damaged
fluid would probably diffuse out of it (idk)

Microwaves excite O-H bonds, particularly those in water. The cells would suffer a similar fate to simply plonking them in boiling water.
