look like today?How rusty? I have a black drywall screw that was removed from a ceiling. I'm trying to put a date on the screw. It is 1 1/2", black head and slightly rusty near the tip. It has not disintegrated at all and still measures 1 1/2". It has a Phillips head. If it was from the original construction (1972) and was inserted into the copper water line then, what would it look like now? how rusty would it be? and would it have disintegrated? Were drywall screws galvanized in the early '70's - are they now?
