In the fall of 2005, I decided to actually attempt to drink the appropriate amount of daily water for my body weight, which for me is 2 litres. I started jogging a few times a week at the gym, taking a multi vitamin and some fish oil tablets twice a day. I was also using the Neutrogena Advanced care thing. My skin got almost 100% clear. Then I went to visit my girlfriend in London over Christmas and my face got all nasty again.
Since then I have had mild/moderate acne, especially on my forehead and hairline. I drank about 2 glasses of coke a day, along with a glass or two of kool-aid (i work with an autistic boy and thats all he drinks). I stopped jogging, taking multi-vitamins and drinking 2 litres of water.
Well, I committed to quit caffeine entirely last month, and havent had a glass of coke or any other soda product since. I got fed up with a greasy acne forehead, so I buzzed my hair off. I stopped using whatever face wash was in the shower and started using the Nivea Mens sensitive skin face wash (the scent free, soap free, dye free completely clear stuff), and Nivea Mens facial scrub a few times a week, generally every other day or so. After shaving and each night I use Neutrogena Mens after shave lotion with a single drop of pure 100% tea tree oil mixed in. I always drink 2 litres of water a day (4 16oz bottles makes it so much easier, especially with meals), and occasionally some orange juice or apple juice. Never pop or sugary drinks, only very occassionally a lemonade or iced tea. I drink hot teas too (caffeine free). I eat healthy breakfasts like Cheerios, eggs and toast with orange juice. Ive really started taking to oatmeal with honey, yum! I only eat wheat bread, never white. I take a Centrum multi-vitamin and 2 1200mg fish oil pills each morning. My face is 99% clear.
Basically I just eat right, dont put harsh products on my face (like acne fighting stuff. The only stuff I use is the Neutrogena On-The-Spot 2.5%BP, but I dont expect it to do anything really), and avoid most sugary fooRAB. Its hard because I still live at home so I cant afford to always eat super healthy (pizzas and that sort of stuff), but I do make stir frys quite often and try my best to incorporate fruits and veggies too. Ill probably go veggie when I move out next year. I would like to start jogging again too. I havent done any crazy methoRAB or heavy medications, but I never had severe acne either.
Sorry this is so long, but I thought Id share what has helped tremendously for me. Im sure going to bed at a consistent time and waking up consistently as well will help, and of course the avoidance of unhealthy fooRAB for the majority of my diet will help too.
