What will happen with my loan? i want to return home to england?

I left england to move to south africa. I have a bank loan and intended to pay and did so for the first 7 months of being abroad. But then i stopped paying. i was refused a work visa and could not send money home. that was nearly two years ago now and i want to return home but i am worried i will be stopped at the airport when i get to england?? i still want to finish paying it as i hate being in debt but i do not know the legal side of the trouble i will be in. has anyone been in this situation and can you offer any advice of what i should do? im really worried.. thanks xx
