I mailed a letter today, forgetting to attach a stamp. D= Will the letter return to my home or be sent to its destination? Will it just be thrown out at the post office?

Thankies for the help. (=

If you put your return address on the envelope, the letter will returned to you with a "returned for postage" stamp. If you did not put your return address, the post office will most likely deliver it to the recipient "postage due," in which case, they will have to fork over the $0.41.

They will put it in your box with some message stamped on it about proper postage, or it will be sent to the recipient with that stamped on it. I've received one that the woman didn't put enough postage on it.

I have seen the incompetent USPS take well over a month to research a letter I mailed w/o a stamp. They returned it to me (opened) with a note telling me I owed additional postage for their "trouble" ! And you wonder why we have such deficits
and gross government incompetence!
