what will happen if i take yeast infection medicine and don't actually have a yeast

infection? i have what i believe to be a yeast infection. if i take one of those at home kits where you stick the medicine up your wazoo, if i turn out to not have a yeast infection, what will happen? 99% sure it is a yeast... there's discharge (not foul smelling), itchy, i am not sexually active so it's not an std.
