what what heat and for how long would you cook a ribeye steak on a gas grill?

this is the 1st time im cooking on the grill and im a bit nervous that im going to either not cook the steak enough or im going to cook it too much! i know that i have to heat the grill up...my dad showed me how to do that last night. but after its heated im not sure if im suppose to take the burners off low?

the steak is about an inch thick? and i want a steak thats pink in the middle so a medium to a medium-wellish?
