What were these GM's thinking?

In 2005 the Milwaukee Bucks selected Andrew Bogut ahead of guys like Chris Paul and Deron Williams. They didnt even have a legit PG at the time.

In 2003 Joe Dumars selected Darko Millicac over D-Wade, Melo, and Bosh.

In 1984 Portland selected Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. Well thats kind of understandable because T-Blazers already had Clyde Drexler at SG at the time.
YS, you are a genius. You are overqualified to be taking Special Ed class in school.
YS-actually I knew that Cp3 and Williams were better College players than Bogut. And yes I watch College Hoops unlike you kids.
"Just got owned disease"? What the hell is that? I take it back, you DO belong in the Special Ed class.
Sky Walker- ummm you just copied my reason for Jordan.

Congratulations sir, your hindsight is 20-20.

How about applying that amazing insight to the upcoming draft, and tell us who will be a star and who will be a bust?

because you can't teach size, and a dominant big man trumps a skilled PG in any draft.

look at the teams who won the championships, even over the last few years:
08: Boston had Kevin Garnett
07: Duncan, the best big man alive
06: Shaq
05: Duncan, again
04: Detroit had the Wallace X 2 combo going
03: Duncan, yet again...

see where I'm going here? yes, those teams had other talented players around them, but the inside force on offense and defense makes those teams run. Dwayne Wade wouldn't have been able to kill Dallas if Shaq didn't immediately command a double team. Tony Parker and Manu wouldn't get the kind of lanes they get if the opposing teams had to make Duncan their primary focus anytime he was within 15 feet of the basket.

you can't teach size. and Bogut is good, he just has the injury bug.

in hindsight, yes, those were bad draft choices. but they unfortunately don't have Doc Brown's dolorean to go back to the future.

"In 2003 Joe Dumars selected Darko Millicac over D-Wade, Melo, and Bosh."

I'll tell you what Joe Dumars was thinking. He had the best backcourt in the league. Why would he break that up for Wade? A guy who wasn't projected to be a superstar player in the NBA? It's easy to look back and say why did they draft this guy over that guy. Hindsight is 20/20.

And Carmelo...gtfo. Have you ever watched the Pistons? They thrive on defense and selflessness back in 2003. That's the Polar opposite of what Melo is. He couldn't guard his own damn shadow! And he's selfish...he just got suspended for disobeying the coach, leaving the team out to try.

And the whole thing with Bosh...idk about that one. I'm thinking Dumars wanted a center. Not a power froward, we had Big Ben at that time remember?

"In 2005 the Milwaukee Bucks selected Andrew Bogut ahead of guys like Chris Paul and Deron Williams. They didnt even have a legit PG at the time."

You take the potential franchise big man over the potential franchise point guard. I'm sure the Bucks would take Chris Paul over Bogut if they could go back in time! Like I said hindsight is 20/20 though...
