What watch do you wear? Part 2

Did a quick search and found it. I am trying to reserve one of the chronos. just sent an email to him about reserving one and he is local so asked if i could see a prototype as well...

Yea you're probably right... the exclusivity is also a bit of a deal breaker for me too... that's why the zenith tickles my fancy... as do panerai... I read dealers only get 3or so pam000 per year(though not sure if that's true).

Omega is very popular, I remeraber reading the omega seamaster quartz was best selling mid ranged watch, although as a beater watch I wouldn't mind an omega.

I got this watch for christmas:

It's kinda fun, because watches are so pointless (IMO obviously), so an even more pointless watch is amusing to me.

More fun was messing about with my new iPhone to take the above picture. But yes, getting the iPhone out just to check the time is worse than my old durab-phone, so a watch is almost less-useless than before. Hmmm, ive confused myself then. Anyway, yay to watches

I'm thinking about alternative straps for a couple of my watches, just so I can change the look of them as I see fit.
I've had a brief look at watch strap sites, but all I can find are places where the straps are cheap and don't look any better than the straps I can see hanging on the wall of the local shoes/watch/key shop.
Can anyone recommend a site for good quality straps, or brand-names of straps that I should look for?
Budgetwise, if that helps, I don't mind paying up to and around £70 for a good leather/rubber strap.
I also prefer deployment clasps.

I was steered away from them by more knowlegable/experienced merabers on here.
They said they're a noisy pain in the backside.
Better off just leaving your automatic/s to stop and quickly resetting it as you need it.

Nice but a bit shiny and blingy for me. I've often thought about a Breitling but every one I've seen in the flesh on someone's wrist whether that's out and about or at work has been far too big and shiny for me.

My latest acquisition, for everyday use.
Hamilton Khaki 'conservation' automatic.
Designed by Harrison Ford.
Bought it with a SS strap, but I don't like them.
So (with the help of Davepuma) I sourced a strap similar in style to the proper Hamilton one featured in the Harrison Ford advert.
At a fraction of the price of a proper Hamilton strap too.

I have spoken with Gordon and reserved nuraber 013 for a chronograph.

The price is £650 for the ONE44 Chronograph and £1200 for the ONE44 Mechanical but these prices will be lower once confirmed with Fricker which should be early next week. The lower prices are for the initial 35 of each watch in the lighthouse batch and will go up once those are taken. All the info is on his site which was posted previously and on the WUS forums.

Quite an interesting read and can't wait to see these in the flesh. Be nice to wear something that no one else has especially when i go back to the states with most of my mates there wearing submariners and daytonas...

Considering one of these at the moment:

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea Dweller DEEPSEA 116660

never had a Rolex before due to being a little thin/lightweight (I like a heavier watch) so am a little unsure.

What do you Rolex boys think of these?

Had a few over the past couple of years, cracking watch

Only one thing to note, it's BIG, I couldn't wear it every day.

You can pick a good one up for £5500 pre enjoyed and at that price I can't see you losing so have a go, if you don't like, sell it
