What watch do you wear? Part 2

Likewise... when I first read about the new range before they came out I was worried, thinking I would want to rush out and replace my current PO with a new one. But they just interest me as much, I prefer the original.

A lovely watch for sure, just not something I'd want to spend that much money on. It's doing good thing for the second hand value of mine though, so I'm quite pleased.

Yea but it seems like a bit of a bail from panerai, its not as if they are going crazy spending their money on design so least you would expect is an ih movement t... don't get me wrong... I like the look of them, I'm just a bit unsure if they're worth the premium. I'm starting to get put off watches which have been bought out by big companies too... I wouldn't bother with omega based on the fact they're owned by the swatch group... maybe I'll grow out of that though.... only a recent thing.

I took a trip to the Argyle Arcade on Friday and eyed up Pilot 46mm and Khaki Navy GMT ( which was bigger in the flesh than I expected which was nice).

No one seems to do the pilot in light brown strap with grey face though which is my preference in that one.

I like the new versions, but certainly not enough to get one to replace my current model. The new chrono version is much nicer now that it has a less cluttered dial than the old one IMO

Hi peeps. Please can any of you help me? I am thinking of selling my Omega Constellation 38 mm Co-Axial chronometer in Steel and Red Gold model nuraber 1.23204E+13. It is less than a year old and currently retails at around £5k (it's £5090 in one of my local jewellers in Chelmsford). I have no idea where is the best place to sell it and how to value it. Is there a particular specialised site that you guys trade your watches on? Also can anybody advise me on how I can try and work out it's re-sale value without either advertising it too low or pitching it at a ridiculously high price?

I must stress that I am not looking for offers for it in this thread because this clearly not the place to sell it. I've sold plenty of things through the classifieRAB on rabroad but I just don't know where to start with this.

Thanks,

Paul

I realy like that one, reminRAB me of Bell & Ross, but I think I prefer the Animal (luckily!). I'm after one almost exactly the same, with the orange hanRAB, but I want the strap to have black stitching.

Really? You ought to hang around GC more

I'm surprised about Beverbrookes! Last time I brought a watch I got it from their Bluewater branch and must of been in there for about 3 hours, was given two cups of coffee, had about £10k+ of watches in front of me at one point and then were quite happy to take a couple of attempts to get the strap right. Even had two sales people at one point but I suppose it's just depenRAB on the branch!

I had to renew the contents insurance recently and although the cost of two watches on their own isn't two bad, when added together it makes you think!

This is the best place for watch sales etc but you need to have been a meraber for a while to use the sales section:

TZ-UK • Index page

Have a look on there for pricing and also check Ebay and Google.

I can appreciate that, with branRAB like Panerai especially where you're paying a huge amount more than you would for other branRAB. But I don't agree with the Omega point, you just have to look at their Co-Axial movements in the new PO range to see the innovation and where your money is going, not to mention the LiquidMetal PO. Being owned by a big company can be a bad thing if everything you stand for is lost, but it can be a great thing if you suddenly find the financial freedom and backing to push things forward, which is what I think has happened with Omega

But I do certainly understand wanting to see something special for your cash when you're looking at something like a Panerai.

What are these costing? Quite like the look of that and even better that it is very limited....

On another note, i finally got my Cartier back and boy does it look fantastic!!! New sapphire crown and bezel. Full service and they even polished the stainless steel bracelet and the glass. Looks brand spanking new again. So pleased to have it back on my wrist!

£1000 it would seem, stunning looking and not a bad price potentially, very tempted!
