What watch do you wear? Part 2

Ohhh, some nice watches in here.

Here's mine.

Daily (Stock picture, mine has gone on holiday to Breitling for repair. ) Breitling Colt on rubber. Nicely made, accurate (10-15 seconRAB a year), doesn't grab too much attention and has possibly the best AR coating I've seen on a watch.

Currently wearing TAG Heuer Aquaracer, treated myself to it used for Christmas.

For tighter cuRAB/beater Tissot PR50 Titanium, it's so slim and light I forget I'm even wearing it. Looks a lot bigger than 37mm in the photo, but it wears a lot smaller in the flesh. It's been ultra dependable too, excellent VFM.

If you can find one of the Traser range for that somewhere then you could certainly do worse.

It is a Chrono
And it has a bi-colour face, UTC and a date window, so there is a lot going on.

Given your last post though, you'll really hate what I've done... I've got it on the Sinn Rubber strap with deployant buckle now, which has again made me appreciate it more, so I'm keeping it now. It seems the bracelet wasn't doing it for me.

I love a happy ending

They are very IWC BP, but about 1/20th or so of the cost Very nice design though and look like a similar size so should be quite prominent on the wrist

Thanks FZR, I am rather keen on it myself! My lovely wife bought it for me for our anniversary.

Mr:W, LOVING that Calibre 5 Aquaracer too, i would like one but like you with the IWC I cant justify the cost, specially seeing as how SWrabO thinks one watch is plenty.

I've fitted the optional TAG rubber strap to my F1 grande date.
To be honest, I'm not sure about it.
It's not the comfiest rubber strap I've ever worn, even if I do prefer the looks over the SS strap.

Never heard of Traser, but I checked out their website.
They seem so close to Luminox designs and spec I'm wondering if they're the same watch under different branding?
Unfortunately, they're a good bit dearer than Luminox for that same spec/design.
:-(
Cheers for introducing a new brand to me though.

This is the new G shock with bendy plastic strap which is much better than its cloth made predecessor as its easier to keep clean.

to the right is my evening wear watch made by navajo indians with semi precious jewels and a silver strap, unfortunately I had a bit of an accident with it and it neeRAB a new glass cover

No, I think there's still a market for them. They can be a bit of fashion for the wrist, especially for men. The watches don't have to be expensive - some of the cheaper Casio ones from the 1980s and early 1990s have a bit of 'retro cool' about them (or so I hear from people more in touch with young of today).

Also, people like nice things even if they're not necessary. To some people, a watch is a nice thing to have.

Some articles from the BBC concerning watches.

BBC News - Casio F-91W: The strangely ubiquitous watch

BBC News - Is time running out for the wristwatch?

Yeah, watches will never go out of fashion. I would imagine mobiles phone as portable accessories will become obsolete long before watches stop being made for wrists.

Also watches don't have to be expensive to be desirable. Have a look at some of the Invicta watches. They are stunning

Seiko do some nice stuff as well. You can pick up older arcturas for under £100 now and some of those look the biz. Having said that the stupid prices the old kinetic arcturas that get listed for on the bay are absolutely laughable considering they are actually a dime a dozen if you look round.

I have a Casio Protrek PRG 70 Casio PRG-70YT-1VER Men's Protrek Altimeter Baro. Thermo. Compass Titanium Watch Reviews & Tests - alaTest.co.uk. Got a few years back from Ebay. Its solar powered which is handy if you can't be arsed with the battery swap thing. Its also got compass, altimeter and temp sensor. I have used the compass a few times to get my bearings. Sort of fancy a change but can't see anything thats similar but better without spending and arm and a leg.
