Hey make sure you never ask to use the bathroom it is a LATRINE. Always use your reporting statement when speaking to anyone other then your fellow airmen basic ( Airmen Basic "your last name" reports as order "man or sir") then ask your question or answer their question. Memorize your chain of command. Learn the airforce song. Always volunter to chow hall. And most important when you do the obstacle course and you do the monkey bars, the trick is grab the outside of bars not the center, you wont slip that way. When you do your first 2 mile run, leave room for improvement, even if you are a great fast runner, leave room for improvement. If you are not a runner, then here some more advice, never stop or walk, if you have to jog at first, then sprint then jog, off and on. They will run or ride bikes aside you yelling if you stop, not a good way to get noticed. Always try. practice life without make-up, getting dressed fast, making your bed tight and getting your hair up above the collar yet not to high to restrict your hat from being placed on your head right. Remember NO matter what training instructors or Drill instructors YELL YELL may get right in your face saying some really rude stuff they will NEVER touch you its all voice. Oh yeah when you do the gas chambers your eyes will burn DO NOT RUB them big big mistake. When you go threw chow hall, eat high carb foods like plain egg noodles with butter salt and lots lots of water. Get what you want first time through, you can go back but not suggested if you get caught up by the snake pit that is where the Trainers all sit they will pick on you. Never make eye contact this is rude, not matter what eyes straight ahead. Even if you are asked to relax. Stand then at ease with eyes still straight ahead and never leave with out reporting statement like I said above and then ask to be excused. Chin up it only last a little while and you'll get a GREAT CAREER out of all your hard work. It will not always be great and will challenge everything about you. IT IS ALL WORTH IT!!!!!!
