It's annoying how so many people's perceptions of New Jersey totally changed after that. I've lived in NJ for 10 years and I've never even met a guido or anyone acting like people in Jersey Shore, Cake Boss, etc. I've seen one guy dress up as a guido as a joke, though. But it's annoying how NJ gets a bad rep when the majority of the state is nice wealthy suburbs and the beaches. some people just focus on the bad sides, like newark and plainfield... but that's a minority. I mean a couple of the top 10 richest counties are in NJ! I lived in one and it had a great school system. I've rarely even smelled bad smells on the roads, too.. so I don't get why people keep making jokes about garbage when most people don't even experience that.. I've never just seen open garbage anywhere. It's funny how New York makes fun of NJ so much when there's only a few exciting places in New York apart from NYC.
