What was this strange flash....?

Me and my wife laid down to go to bed one night. we laid together for a little more than a half hour and then proceeded to go to sleep, no more than a minute or 2 after we closed our eyes we seemed to have experianced something like a quick bright flash that seems similiar to a cameras flash. it suddenly woke both of us up, there was no sound and it didn't happen again, we checked everything in our room and clearly nothing was out of the ordinary or even able to create such a flash. we have no cell phone and the camera we own was in a drawer buried under stuff. as far as i know and i've lived here many years ive never experianced anything paranormal, i dont believe this house is haunted. Me and her are really freaked about this and cannot come to a conclusion, lately we've also been experiancing weird things with our internet not working and house phone not working properly but we just assumed it's just technical errors nothing unusual. We really would love to know if anyone has ever experianced anything like this?
