No, Obama did not claim the economy was strong right after he passed the stimulus plans.


In fact, all Obama's been saying was "It's gonna get worse before it gets better."

The stimulus money isn't gonna be fully distributed until next year. They can't distribute it immediately because they need to make sure that money isn't abused and spent on things it wasn't intended for.

McCain didn't say "the economy is strong." He said "The fundamentals of our economy are still strong." He's actually referring to the American people being motivated enough to get us through the slowdown we were experiencing at the time.
