After a woman got raped and beaten in Toronto, the rapist's punishment in court was reduced, because he said the victim was dressed like a "slut" so he thought she was "asking for it".
The intention of Slutwalk is to get the message out there that if someone is dressed like what you may call a "slut" it does not mean "they are asking for it" at all!
It is the rapists and the criminals who have to be accountable for their actions, not the rape victim who will deal with severe depression and more psychological dilemmas due to the sexual assault.
Is it just like forgiving someone who has committed armed robbery from a store and their excuse is: They opened the cash register and flashed me the money, so they were asking for it!!
