What was the influence of Henry Ford on the American economy of the 1920's?

I would say the most important contribution Fordism had to the American economy in the 1920s was that he made affordable cars, making transport faster and more efficient. When people move faster, the economy picks up. You can compare it to what the internet did with communication and overall revenue boost in the early nineties.
