What's the DVD you played first on your player - the one you used to see just how good the player is?

Well my housemates just bought a DVD player and I'm watching AI on it - something I've only done through the PC before.

After receiving my first DVD player, which was just over a year ago, first in was Platoon. I went straight to the 'Tour Of Inferno' documentary as I had never seen any behind-the-scenes footage of my favourite movie before.

'The Mummy Returns' (those vivid scarlet costumes). I followed it up with 'The Fellowship of the Ring' (Moria sequence)

I bought my (then) top of the range Sony because my mark 1 Sony had no dts and had a hardware flaw that made some discs skip. The first thing I watched was the opera/fight scene in The Fifth Element, then the liberation of Morpheus scene in the Matrix.

Any film that was out in the summer of 2001 when I got my PS". Really can't remeber which film it was now, but I know I got it from Blockbuster!

The Matrix. I bought a new 32 inch TV at the same time so I wanted to see how good all the special effects would look with my new kit. It looked great. Shame the film was crap :)

I bought my trusted Panny A360 and my Pioneer VSX-409 5.1/DTS amplifier on the same day and there were not that many good 5.1 DVD's around at the time to test my set-up.
So my first movie was "Batman Returns"

I still have all three

On my first DVD player (a kick-a$$ toshiba player way back in 1999) I started off with my brother's copy of "Child's Play 4:The Bride Of Chucky" and "Rush Hour". Then when I got my cheapy new player (due to the fact that the Toshi couldn't play VCD or multiregion) I tried a DVD-R copy of a Disney Trailer disk to check the playback compatibility.
