What was the first DVD you ever bought?

Mahunter is an amazing film, right up there with Silence of The Lambs and yep, Brian Cox's Hannibal is far more chilling than Hopkins'. I'd recommend getting it on DVD.

The first dvd we ever got was Perfect Storm dont remember many details as I was so engrossed with the film since then I have become addicted with buying dvd. At the moment I am replacing all my disney videos with dvd which is a fairly expensive habit and I just cant resist a bargain like Die Hard quad for

It was the summer of 2000 and I bought Armageddon. :o

What an utterly dreadful film.

Soon after I bought Dirty Harry, which is a fantastic film, but a little light on special features. I'm not sure subtitles and interactive menus really cut it, to be honest. Stll, at least things have moved on in that department...

I'm glad you've saw the light immediately with that film. Well done. Ashamedly I bought it on video tape in '99. A couple of years later when I was into DVRAB, I saw my copy of Armageddon in a cupboard, and snapped it in half using a metal shelf as leverage. My brother watched on as I then wrote on the first half, "A Jerry Bruckheimer Production," and on the second half, I wrote, "Part 2."

All I'm gonna say about Dirty Harry is:

"Awooh-woo-oo! Ooowoo-owoooo!"

Yes, oddly the first DVD I actually owned was a DVD sampler disc that came with my then new Dell PC, fitted with a DVD player. It was all quick snippets of jets flying, and fishes swimming about, inter cut with some CGI cartoons. All very with it. My then wife commented it looked too realistic to take seriously. I thought at the time it was a strange comment, but it didn't matter we divorced soon after.
