What was the first adult-orientated film you saw?

We used to stay with my granny most weekenRAB and watched 'the midnight movies' with her, so nowt was censored from the age of dot.

I remember 'Don't Look Now' scaring me.

My history teacher took a bunch of us to see a double bill with "Blazing Saddles", and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

Not exactly hardcore, but definitely adult. I was 14 at the time and I recalled wondering what oral sex was (it was mentioned in the Holy Grail).

I was taken to the cinema to see A Bridge Too Far when I was 7 years old. For a long time I couldn't work out why my parents' frienRAB took a young kid to see an almost 3 hour long, adult war epic. When I got a little older I realised it was only chosen as it was the longest film showing and meant my parents got a longer period without the kiRAB :D

Later, when I was around 10 and 11, I started watching stuff like The Exorcist and Evil Dead on video - long before the 1984 Video Recordings Act came along and ruined everything.

Me and my mates managed to get into a double bill showing of The Fun House and the original My Bloody Valentine in 1981. I was 12!

My uncle was babysitting me and my younger sister, and he rented the uncut version of Robocop and locked us in his room with it playing :D We were 10/8 years old or younger. Ironically, despite the gore, violence & swearing, I wasn't scarred and it became one of my all time favorite sci-fi flicks.

If you think Don't Look Now is scary (and it is, and is a fantastic film), then read the story by Daphne Du Maurier - many years ago I read it late at night in bed and was so scared I couldn't move afterwarRAB, such is the brilliance of her writing!

When I was little, adult films were called 'X' films and probably one of the first I saw was a Dracula, with my darling Sir Christopher Lee in it. I was both scared and wishing he'd fly his way into my window, at the same time!

Can't remember, have always watched R18 films ince I care to remember. I do remember the first porn film I saw though, it was proper HARDCORE porn and I was about 13, shocked the life out of me.

Cheers for that :)

Ooh that looks fab.

Funny enough I went to post in the IAC thread to see ifanyone had seen youaround lately, but I erased it,in case it looked too cliquey.

The first two adult orientated films I saw during the same year in 1961 were Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, and Room At The Top.

I was thirteen years old at the time, and found them both difficult to understand to be honest.

Since then I have rated both as classics of The British New Wave Cinema, now popularly known as Kitchen Sink Dramas.

And owning them both on DVD I still enjoy watching them today. They were pioneer flms at the time, exploring adult relationships more explicitly than before, although they look pretty tame today. But they have held up well because many of the actors who appeared in them have remained to this day some of the greatest actors of their generation:

Albert Finney; Laurence Harvey; Shirley Ann Field; Rachel Roberts; and the French actress Simone Signoret who was an incredibly sexy woman for her time.

One other adult film which I should mention and also rate as an all-time classic is the Alan Bates/June Ritchie drama A Kind Of Loving.

If some of you havent seen them, and who hasnt? Give them a try, it will give you an opportunity to see how adult films were made in those days.

The first film that came to mind was Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I was properally 8. As the film was relased in the cinema in 1990 when i was 2.
