What was the controversy with Doogal?

It depends on what channel you were watching. I'm not sure if it was Nick or CN but back when it premiered for a short time there were ads for this thing every commercial break.

I remember Jon Stewart making fun of the character he was dubbing several times, as an evil spring who shoots ice out of his moustache.

And when he was on Craig Ferguson's show, he had the the most dumbstruck expression on his face when Craig, a Scotsman, named the character (Zebedee) and knew exactly what he was talking about

Well movie wise I was saying. The industry doesn't really care what you do on TV.

Regardless, I wonder how all the other actors felt doing that movie, if I remember it right there were some pretty high class VAs in there, not just people out of work. I can see that they might what to do this for thier kids, but they should've had some idea that the jokes didn't fit the plot, or at least some background about it. I mean, they were given a background about the original show and movie right? If not, people need to do more research. It's very important (apparently).

Which begs the question that I've brought up oh so many times. Why couldn't they just distribute the last Asterix movie if they wanted something from Europe?

Huh. Didn't know that. And yet his name is on the picture, and when I saw a trailer at the movies, it was pumped as being "from the producer of The Fairly Oddparents!"

And maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that Butch promoted the film on his website?
