I have a very vague memory of this TV show, and I was born in 1988, so that would make it something like 1992-4. The theme song was kind of scary and edgy, and featured lyrics that went "Akira's [presumably one of the characters] just a rat", and there was a shot of this character who was a rat, rather than a mouse like the other characters. It was animatronic or puppets in the style of Jim Henson productions, and the mood was also scary and edgy. The characters had American accents, and it may have been some sort of mystery theme, because they spoke quite seriously. It'd blow my mind if someone could actually find the name or even a clip of this show, as it's been bugging me for years!
