What was Dr. Albert Einstein Academy before they turned it into a school?

In Elizabeth, NJ the school Dr. Albert Einstein Academy was something before it was demolished. So I would like to know what it was. My friend told me it was a mansion that was haunted and that they made a ghost hunters about it so I would like that to please be confirmed. Thanks a lot.
