What vein is this?

I've been curious about this for awhile but every time I shave when I lift my head up, I can feel 1 rather small vein all the way up and down the front part of my neck.

The reason I ask this is because I'm worried about pinching it or somehow managing to damage it by shaving around it, it is not huge or anything.

I know there's two main veins running down the front part of the neck, but I can also find this one small one when I lift my head up.

Someone told me it would be impossible to pinch or damage it even if you can feel it because it is under the skin quite a ways.

There is nothing in the front or on the sides of your neck, or face that you can kill yourself just shaving. When was the last time you heard of a guy dying from shaving? Every guy cuts/nicks his face/neck or head and no one dies from it. The sell little white septic pencils to stop the bleeding or there is the trusty toilet paper pieces. Have you heard of any guy causing himself great harm from cutting himself shaving. Nope....and believe me you are going to cut yourself so many times over the years and wonder if you have any skin left to cut.

as far as i can recall,all veins and arterys are running alongside on both SIDES of your neck or anything coming into the face from the neck is also more to the sides of the face as well,i really don't know just what it is that you have there that would be located within that area right in the front? it 'could' possibly some very very tiny little vein, but i would have to check bloodflow areas. if by some chance this IS some tiny little vein,it would not be life or death if you nicked it shaving. it is low pressure and would ooze a bit and stop. but i would very seriously doubt it is actually an artery of any type in that particular area. unless you have a very abnormal vascular structure(not everyones anatomy is always "right on" as far as where certain things are actually located)? that IS one possibility if this actually IS that large/noticable.

its just for the most part,when it comes to how the veins and arterys run within our bodies,as far as the 'sides" of our bodies,it is kind of a 'mirror image' on both sides,you know what i mean? with the exception of major arterys within the main trunk of our bodies(or within the brain too) which are very deep,there really is not anything even IN the very middle like within the neck area you are speaking of. you may want to see your doc just to actually find out what that is that is sticking out enough there to concern you with having to shaving around it. not really knowing for certain exactly what area you are truely referring to it would really be hard to say what that really is. i would see your doc about this just so you know what that actually is. i myself would really like to know that one too.
