What universities have a good Arabic and/or Farsi program?

I've been increasingly interested in the prospect of being an Arabic/Farsi translator. I have a few questions if you will.

1.) What Universities are renowned for having a strong department in either of those two languages?

2.) Would I need to get a Bachelor's degree or Master's?

3.) Is the job outlook decent for the CIVILIAN side of things? I do not, do not want to join the military.

Anything else I should know? Thanks!
 
As a Persian linguist I know that the University of Maryland had a very good Persian Farsi program, as for Arabic I do not know but I would think there are more universities with dedicated Arabic programs than Farsi. As for the job outlook, anyone with these language skills are being picked up hotter than most people without language skills. Contractors, media/document translators, CIA and FBI, there are many job opportunities for people with the language skills, you just have to know where to look.
