I have taken my SAT once, and will be taking it again in october. I may also take an ACT as well. I currently hold just a tad under a 2.5 GPA... with my senior year to go... any ideas?
Thanks so much!

Yes, I have lots of ideas!

1.) Study like crazy for the SAT and score higher when you take it in October
2.) Write an addendum to your college applications explaining why your GPA is not a reliable indicator of how you will perform in college (have evidence to back up your claim). Your addendum should include any positive grade trends as well.
3.) Write extremely powerful, polished, essays if particular university's ask for them.

Other than that, why do you need to go straight off to university? Aren't you still going to have to take English, History, and other courses that community colleges offer as well? Why not do your first semester at a community college? If you do well, you will have evidence that you are able to succeed and could even have a 4.0 undergraduate GPA! In addition, the law in Florida is that if you earn an A.A. from any accredited community college- you are guaranteed acceptance to AT LEAST ONE state university! It is easier to transition from high school to community college, it is much more affordable, and when you apply to a Florida university as a TRANSFER STUDENT instead of as a FRESHMAN- you have much less competition.
