I am looking to start learning how to play the piano, instead of buying a big one I would like a keyboard. I know I want a Yamaha, I would like something I could record with or be able to connect it to my laptop so I can record, INEXPENSIVE, and for beginners or intermediate. Can someone help me...what its or would be the best model for me and what websites can I get it from?

Todays keyboards are amazing for how cheap they are. Make sure you find one with full-size touch sensitive keys (the harder you hit them, they louder the sound). If you want to record, one fun thing would be to get one with a MIDI output. That sends the info about what keys you played to special type of recorder called a sequencer, rather than the sound itself. That allows you to play back what you played with a different sound than what you used when you played. Also, the sequencer allows you to edit out mistakes, and record mulitple parts which is good for song writing. When comparing keyboards, notice how many keys they have. Some are 49, some are 61, others are 72.. Obviously more keys is better unless you have hardcore space-saving issues.

Yamaha is good. I have a Casio that is also very good. It has amazing features, even letting you edit sounds on a computer, and dump them back to the keyboard.
