what type of tests do they do to see why a women miscarrys?

hi,
my name is kayleigh im 18 years old and i have been with my boyfriend since december 7th 2007. we have been trying to conceive since then. we were sucessful 3 times, but not enough to carry the baby to full term, i had 3 miscarriages. one in june 2008 at 10 weeks/ another april 2009 at 4 weeks/ and the last one in oct 18 at 4 weeks again. it is the most frustrating and depressing thing to go threw. finally after all the misscarriages and waiting to know why, i finally am going to see the doctor this feb 17th 2010. the doctor i had before didn't do anything so i made a new appointment with a different doctor, and hoefully i will find out why i keep losing. if anyone has any answer please let me know,
i have O neg blood type
and i always have low hcg levels when im pregnant.
that's all i know so far.
hopefully one day my boyfriend and i will have our mirical baby from god
 
well for one you're not resting your uterus long enough and 2 as far as tests go you can't get test done to find out why a woman miscarries and that's what any doctor will tell you sorry about your luck.
 
There is no test they can really do to tell you why you miscarried when you did because they happened in the first trimester. You miscarried in your first trimester each time (10 weeks and 4 weeks), that is when they are expected to occur. There are tests they can do for when your further along and miscarry, but not for earlier than 12 weeks in most cases, they just assume it is a chromosomal issue. Also, miscarriages at 4 weeks although sad, are not that uncommon. A miscarriage that early is usually the result of chemical pregnancy. 1 in 5 pregnancies end in chemical pregnancy miscarriage, most women do not even know it because it happens so close to when they'd expect their next period. Chemical pregnancy is when the egg meets the sperm to be fertilized, but it doesn't attach to the uterine wall or it does and immediately aborts itself due to a chromosomal issue. There are no tests they can run for those becuase that is so early in the pregnancy. I am a bit confused as to how you know if your hcg levels were low at 4 weeks. At 4 weeks your levels are just barely enough to be read by a hpt, so how is it you knew the levels? Are you even sure you were pregnant? Something to think about. Also, you said you are 18 and you and your boyfriend have been purposely trying to get pregnant since 2007?! So that would have made you 15 or 16 then. Honestly, I think this is your body's way of telling you your too young to have a baby. Wait until your married to your boyfriend and have a college education or at least lived a little and experienced life.
 
I'm not sure about what tests they do but just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your losses...
I hope they find out what is causing them.
 
There might not be a preventable cause for your miscarriages. But there might be. A doctor should check you for clotting disorders. This could be the reason. Simple blood tests will be done to check for this. And if you have a clotting disorder then you can take blood thinner injections during pregnancy or even just a baby aspirin to help increase your chances for having a healthy pregnancy. I have a clotting disorder and I am fortunate to have two beautiful little girls.

There are other reason and it could be as well. But I am not familiar with those.
