M/A, By your own admission you have little experience. -And you say you want something that just looks good and is fast. You want a bike for all the wrong reasons.
I suggest taking a MSF course, cooling your jets and thinking seriously about the bike you can ride,... not the bike you want. And try to apply at least some measure of level headed thinking and maturity to this equation. The reality is a sportbike is designed to deliver power and performance way beyond your skill level. bottom line. AND they cost a pretty penny to buy and insure. (you did say costs are a concern)
Get for your first ride something not pretty: something used you can afford to drop. -And you will drop it. Its a part of learning and you are not immune. Your first ride will not get you laid. face that fact right now. Get some miles and experience behind you, THEN upgrade.
Look, I understand: you see the other guys out there ripping it up. Constantly surrounded by the girls, & (they think) they look really cool. Those guys are morons. It's what you don't see thats the measure of a real rider. Responsibility and appropriate behavior out on the street. Take the course, apply what they teach. Ride safe, stay alive, don't give motorcycling a bad name.
