Mention of the type of ship is a little vague. It had a crew of two hundred, was cheered out of harbour and headed south. I dont think it was a warship, so a merchants ship possibly?

Thanks Ashcan. Yes , I thought if I submitted it under history I may catch a naval history buff. The suggested category was boating. I suppose I need to know what ships would have a crew of two hundred. Old S.T.C wrote part of the poem down the road from me and would have seen the ships in harbour. To think two hundred years later he would inspire an Iron Maiden song!
