What type of qualities would you like your waitress at a restaurant to have?

What are some qualities?
Friendliness, quality, checking on your table multiple times, talkativeness?
Just wandering...what makes a good waitress?
Do you normally "over" tip a good waitress that served you well?
 
yes yes i would.....a good waitress doesnt bug customers every 15 min....when you serve them smile and say "hi how are you" and thats it!!!then when they call ask"may i help you" and after say "anything els you need"....when they leave wish them a good day and hope that they enjoyed their visit
 
I wouldnt like a bossy, iggnorant waitress..

friendly
talkitive
asking how your meal is

If I tip I give about 5 dollars/pounds extra. xxx
 
I believe a good waitress is one who is attentive but not overbearing. One who sees your drink is about empty either fills your coffee cup or brings another drink before your cup is empty. One who does not allow you to sit forever to order or to check back on you when your food is served to see if everything is ok or if there is anything else you need. To be pleasant and friendly--Do not mind a waitress talking as she is waiting on you, but stand or even sit down, which we have had happen before, while you are trying to eat or have a conversation with your party is a no no. to chime in on a conversation she is not involved in without being asked is a no no. I like a waitress to be friendly say more than hi how are you what you like, but not dominate my whole dinner. there is a happy medium just need to find it with each customer, because each customer is different.
 
when i am seated i want waitress to come over fast smile act friendly and welcome me get my drink order
give me a menu and then leave table and wait for me to put down menu to show i have decided on what to order
take my order
make sure i get my food in the correct amount of time
and when you serve my food
you leave but come back 2 minutes later to see if everything is ok
then let me eat when you see my plate empty you take away dirty dish
offer me coffee or whatever and ask if id like dessert or something else
if we look like we are finished offer me my check
\take my payment and bring change and tell me to have a great day
and you will be fine in my book
