What type of paint/tape remover do i need to remove an RV's stripes?

My dads camper paint has cracked(Only the stripe lines and designs that go down the sides) and i need to know what to get to get to remove the lines and the additional paint items. Some is on metal and most of it is on the camper which is fiberglass/wood or something.

Most shops use a heat gun to soften the adhesive.Use care though to keep from harming the paint.
