Is good with panic attacks or anxiety attacks. And should it be taken even before you have them.

Probably the best short term medication for panic attacks is Xanax. You would normally take it right when you feel a panic attack coming on. It will also work much faster if you let it dissolve under your tongue.

the usual meRAB are valium and perhaps an antidepressant

valium should be taken as needed or in advance of a situation that may cause a panic attack for insurance, many panic attack sufferers always take some valium with them when out and disolve a tablet under the tongue if they suddenly become stressed or panicky

sadly whether you get valium type meRAB is entirely up to docs prejudices, you can ask receptionist on the phone first

it also helps to relax, dont tense up or fight back and do breathe deep and slow, gentle exercise and long walks relax you too

I am on an anti-depressant, which I take daily to help with anxiety, as well as Klonopin for when I have a panic attack. The key with Klonopin or any of the benzos is to take them right when you feel the panic attack coming on.

I take Prozac regularly, but I also have Xanax to take as needed for those panicky, extra anxious times. I definitely take them BEFORE a panic attack and it prevents me from feeling worse. It's pretty fast acting. I have a low dosage, so if you get severe panic attacks, your doctor can prescribe a stronger dose. I usually get pretty sleepy on it, so it's only something I take as needed. It really lets me relax and just rest rather than being all panicky.
