What type of Freon does a Ford 7840 tractor use?

I have a late 90s model Ford/New Holland 7840 tractor. Can anyone tell me what type of Freon it takes or how to identify the type it takes?

134a but if you plan to try and fill it your wasting your money until you find the leak or repair whatever else is wrong with it,

It is definitely R-134A refrigerant. The system holds 2.75 lbs.(if memory serves) and can be completed by anyone with A/C repair experience

I don't know if it applies to tractors but.... in 1995 it was mandatory to run r-134 so if its older than 95 you might have r-12 . Look at the service port for your a/c system. If the port is threaded on the outside you have r-12 if it doesn't have threads (Smooth with a groove on outside) then its r-134
