what type of fish was this?

well a long time ago i went to this electronic store and they had some fish is this square tank (the tank was about 3 gal.) and there were a lot of little tiny fish in there. they were orange with black tails. does anyone know the species. they were very small maybe about the size of a ghost shrimp,
it was a long time ago, but i remember it: its head was bigger than its body and then it got smaller as you went down to its tail, but they were really really small and when you went up to the tank they would hide
 
They were juvenile platies that or they were sword tails but either way they are very similar so similar they can even mate together
 
they were probably juvenile fish.. but what kind?? possibly a variety of guppy, or maybe a platy or a molly? Can you describe the shape? mouth placement? (mid level, upward facing, downward facing) dorsal fin?
