...weigh 240 lbs.? I am tired of getting flat tires constantly, I need an affordable way, because I cannot afford a custom made bicycle.
Yeah, I forgot to mention that I have a 26" mountain bike. I keep getting flat tires, I think that this is due to pinch flats, I heard that if you put baby powder in between the rim and tread it helps to stop that... Anyway, I was wondering what the actual weight limit was for the actual tires/rims themselves.

-need to know what the weight limit is for tires and rims so I can find a affordable way to cycle.
-none of the literature on the net/bicycle info I have seen gives the weight limit on products.

I'm not much lighter than you, but don't have much of a problem with flats.
For my touring bike I have some custom wheels - 36 spoke front 40 spoke rear - with 700-32c tyres. However, my other bikes use standard wheels. If you are not getting broken spokes then the wheels are probably not the problem.
The trick seems to be to keep the wheels well balanced, use good quality tyres and keep them well inflated (use a floor pump rather than a hand pump). When you are heavy, pinch flats are the biggest problem, so letting the tyre pressure get low can be the main cause. Keep the pressure at the upper end of the range for the tyre.
