I recently bought an Acura Integra (1996). I am not sure what type it is. It does have a VTEC motor in it. How can I go about finding what type it is-GS-R, Type R etc etc. Is there some way to tell from the VIN number. Any and all help is appreciated, Thank you.
Also, how many different types are there?

Do a google search for the VIN. It'll come up with the year, make, and model on Carfax.com.

If you have Vtec, your car must be a 1996 Acura Integra GS-R

The Type R was made in 1997-2001 (1997 Type R are RARE!)

B18b = LS/GS/RS (140horsepower with NO Vtec)

B18c1 = GSR (170 horsepower with Vtec)

The only way to check if you have a Vtec engine is the Vin Number on the motor.... Here is a picture, I photoshop this pix... The black arrow shows you where to look! Hope this helps!
